The Design Inspiration Behind “Martello #7: Biofeedback”

Post

A year and a half ago, my husband underwent coronary quadruple by-pass surgery.  Part of his recovery regimen was participation in a closely monitored cardiac rehab program.  I was inspired by his dedication to his recovery and felt compelled to honor it in art.  “Martello #7: Biofeedback” features the human body and its circulatory system gently silhouetted against a bold, graph-like background that represents the rise and fall of the heart rate during and after exercise.

This quilt, as well as “Vasi”, were juried into Vessels: All the Eyes Can Hold at the Kennedy Heights Arts Center.  Click here for information about this exhibition.
